This webinar was organised by the Big Data Value Association (BDVA), the Big Data Value eCosystem Project (BDVe) and the European Commission. It was the first action in a series of events and workshops related to the EU big data platform projects that are funded under the umbrella of the European Big Data Value PPP. The aim of this webinar was to start identifying synergies and to learn how different projects will address key data collection, sharing, integration, and exploitation challenges. This webinar was dedicated to the cluster of data platform projects that address both personal and industrial data.
The projects that presented their ambitions and first insights were TRUSTS and smashHit. The webinar was organized as an introductory sequence of presentations from projects (ca. 20 minutes each), followed by a moderated Q&A session involving the webinar participants. Alexandra Garatzogianni, Head of Tech Transfer at the Leibniz Information Center for Science & Technology (TIB) and Coordinator of the TRUSTS project, presented TRUSTS in a twenty minutes session and answered questions of the public.
As requested by the European Commission, the presentation focused on introducing the project at the consortium, showcasing the project’s main objectives and expected key innovations, its use cases and key characteristics of data sets involved. Moreover the presentation included angles such as the project’s expected business impact and open challenges faced regarding data. The presentation was well received with many comments and questions by the high number of attendees. The webinar will soon be made available public on the BDVA YouTube channel.
